Overview

Why Chicken is a barbecue restaurant located in Pasig, Metro Manila, that has quickly become a popular destination for chicken and biryani lovers alike. Its main attraction is the whole chicken served with a generous helping of biryani rice, a combination that resonates well with diners seeking hearty, flavorful meals that cater to a local palate. While it doesn't claim to offer authentic Indian biryani, it presents a uniquely Filipino spin that balances aromatic spices with familiar comfort flavors.

The menu features standout dishes such as the Roasted Chicken paired with fragrant biryani rice, as well as options to add extra rice bowls and sauces—whether you prefer the creamy garlic dipping or a spicy hot chili sauce. These accompaniments elevate the meal experience, creating a satisfying blend of tastes and textures. The chicken, tender and well-seasoned, tends to fall off the bone, highlighting the care in preparation without over-oiling, making it a flavorful yet light choice.

Located along Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Avenue, the space is known to draw considerable crowds, especially during peak hours, reflecting its growing popularity. While parking can be challenging and waiting times may stretch due to high demand, customers appreciate the quick and efficient service once their food is ready. The vibrant atmosphere is a testament to its appeal among diverse diners, from local families to working professionals looking for a filling and affordable meal.

Why Chicken’s audience clearly values both taste and convenience, making it a go-to spot for takeout and quick bites. The restaurant’s presence in multiple areas, including Taguig, points to its successful ability to meet these expectations. Although some reviewers note the biryani is adapted rather than authentic and packaging can be improved for delivery, the consensus remains positive—this place offers solid flavors at great value, with a memorable chicken and rice combo that invites you to savor each bite and come back for more.

If you're looking for authentic biryani this is not the place. It's adjusted to fit a Pinoy palate more. But it's really good. My wife and I always enjoy taking out from why chicken. Service is quick but sometimes there's just a big queue since there is high demand.

This Biryani Chicken is worth the hype! It’s really good! Very flavorful, delicious, and affordable! Chicken is very tender and falls off the bones. The red and white sauces are complimenting with the chicken and rice. What’s more? It’s not very oily as compared to the others. Fast and no-hassle ordering too! Good job, WC!

I only ordered online, my niece recommended it, but I already saw their place when I passed through that road going to Marikina. I am a Biryani fan especially when we stayed in Qatar. As expected, with the price and ingredients used, it cannot be compared with authentic Biryani that we already tried. It's affordable, good enough but the chicken is small and lacks the spices, I am not expecting for a bigger one because of the price. Maybe they need to improve on their packaging, my order looked like it dropped. I know the staffs packed it properly but maybe it was the rider who mishandled it. Last week, I passed by the "Embo area" in J.P.Rizal formerly part of Makati but now already part of Taguig City and was suprised that they already have a branch there. There was also a long queue.

It’s really good though we waited for like an hour since we had to wait for the next batch of cooked chicken. There’s a waiting area that would surely get super hot at noon. Very limited parking and you can’t just park along the street because traffic enforcers will give you a ticket. The chicken is flavorful and the biryani rice is good. There’s also garlic sauce and chili sauce included. I’ll order extra rice and still order extra garlic sauce next time :)

The food was good for the price (only 300 pesos for a whole chicken and biryani rice). Chicken is small and can only serve 2 people with normal appetite and 3 people with small appetite. Dining in is better since you can have all the sauce you want for free and the packaging of the sauces for take out is small. The place is cramped for the amount of customers they are serving especially when they are still in the middle of cooking the chicken. I would recommend it here especially if you are residing near the area.

A must try authentic eating experience. As someone who was raised abroad, I knew i had to get their soft opening promo for their lebanese roasted chicken with biryani rice to see if it tastes as authentic as possible. My review: The biryani rice, Daqus sauce and garlic sauce were 100% authentic to me like i was back in the Middle east! Now for the main "ulam" the lebanese rotisserie chicken, It was nearly perfect in every way, slow roasted soft chicken goodness! The flavor of the lebanese seasoning to the bone. I even thought it had a small Philippine authenticity taste with hints of spring onion being stuffed inside the chicken pre-roast. Overall, a must try! For the service (at this time of writing): I knew it would always be packed as their FB page and food vloggers keep posting reels and pictures about the promo and how it tastes which will attract more people for sure with non stop lines. I decided to go in the afternoon on a weekday to expect a shorter line. Due to hassle and shortage, they made us write down our names in a numbered list and called us to come back several hours later to purchase and collect the order so i only had to wait an hour in line and come back a few hours later to get the order instant. (Better than waiting for hours straight in line) No parking. No dine-in. Takeaway mostly. Opening prices: 150 - half chicken w/ rice 300 - full chicken w/ rice 50 - extra biryani rice

A very long wait, more than an hour due to large volume of customers, of course it became viral, a sensational chicken, since Filipinos are curious of the taste of an Arabic aroma of the chicken and it's partner Biryani rice for only Php 300.00.
